The NHS is dedicated to supporting your health and wellbeing, helping you stay both mentally and physically healthy. If you're unwell, we’ll assist in your recovery.
Here’s what you can expect from our practice:
- We’ll ask all patients whether they have served in the UK Armed Forces (either as a regular or reservist). If you have, we’ll note this in your medical records, with your permission.
- We’ll ask you to share details of your military service to help us assess the best possible support and treatment for you.
- All information you provide will be kept confidential, and we’ll always speak to you before sharing anything with other services you may be referred to.
- You can schedule an appointment with our GP lead for veterans' health, who has a thorough understanding of military service, health conditions related to it, and the specific support available to you.
- The NHS upholds the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant, meaning you will receive priority treatment for any medical condition linked to your service, subject to the clinical needs of other patients.
- We’ll ensure you are informed about the care and treatment options available to you, helping you make well-informed decisions.
- Where appropriate and with your consent, we can refer you to specialized veterans’ health services.
- If you need care from another service, we will inform them of your status as a veteran and ensure they are aware of your health needs.
- We’re here to offer advice and support to your loved ones, especially those who may be impacted by your health conditions.
- We take any concerns or complaints about your care seriously and will investigate them fully. If you have any concerns, please feel free to speak to any member of our practice team.
If you'd like to know more, please talk to one of our GPs or nurses.
